We'll be Exhibiting at the 31th Scientific Meeting of Japanese Academy of Prosthetists and Orthotists (JAPO)
We will be exhibiting at the 31st Scientific Meeting of the Japanese Academy of Prosthetists and Orthotists (JAPO), to be held under the theme “Tradition and Innovation” from July 19 (Sat) to 20 (Sun), 2025, at the Kakuix Exchange Center in Kagoshima City. We will be showcasing next-generation solutions for prosthetic, orthotic, and rehabilitation care. Our team looks forward to meeting you there!
Exhibit Lineup & Hands-on Programs
Based on the theme ‘Tradition and Innovation,’ we will exhibit products that embody traditional techniques and expertise passed down over the years, as well as innovative solutions designed to support the future of clinical practice and prosthetic and orthotic manufacturing.
■■ Ortop Central Fabrication Service - Manufacture of new prosthetics and orthotics for early stage of rehabilitation -
The concept of this Ortop Central Fabrication Service is to deliver proper number of product in timely manner to users who need Prosthetics and Orthotics all over Japan by collaborating with regional P&O workshops. Through this service, we also aim to assist regional P&O workshops by providing solutions for quality stability, cost reduction, quick delivery, and productivity enhancement. If you visit the exhibition, please stop by our booth. We look forward to seeing you there.
■■Össur -Proposal for Prosthetic Components Effective in Early-Stage Rehabilitation-
As part of the exhibition of Össur products, we will be showcasing not only newly approved products in 2025, but also the Connect TF system — designed to facilitate the assessment of prosthetic adaptation and support early rehabilitation with femoral prostheses. Additionally, we will present packaged prosthetic components that are especially effective for use in rehabilitation.
In addition, models wearing our newly approved prosthetic products will be attending. This is a rare opportunity, so please stop by our booth and take the chance to share their personal impressions of wearing them.
■■Introducing Orthotic Solutions to Support Patients with Cardiovascular Disease
We will exhibit and introduce our renewed gait analyzer “Gait Judge System G2”, which can be used as a feedback tool for rehabilitation. In addition, we will showcase the “Gait Innovation,” which allows for easy and quick height adjustments with the Height Adjust System, as well as the “MILINE” series by Becker, newly approved in 2025.
You can actually touch and try out the products at the venue. Don't miss this opportunity to experience the latest technology!

Luncheon Seminar
“How to Care for Lower Limb Amputees: Key Points in Residual Limb Management and Rehabilitation from Surgery to Discharge”
Date & Time: Sunday, July 20, 2025, 11:20 AM – 12:50 PM
Venue: Room 2 (Middle Hall)
Speaker: Dr. Hiroaki Kato, Orthopedic Surgeon, Komono Kosei Hospital, Mie North Medical Center, JA Mie Koseiren
Chairperson: Mr. Tomohiko Sasagawa, Representative, PORISE
In 2025, a Clinical Practice Guideline for lower limb amputation is scheduled to be released. The guideline emphasizes the important role of recovery-phase rehabilitation hospitals as key facilities for prosthetic rehabilitation.
As a community-based hospital, Komono Kosei Hospital plays a vital role in regional medical care, providing prosthetic rehabilitation for approximately 10 lower limb amputees annually. Many of these patients successfully regain walking ability and reintegrate into society. In this seminar, Dr. Kato will discuss comprehensive postoperative care, including specific methods for residual limb (stump) management.
He will also introduce his current initiative, "Transfemoral Prosthetic Rehabilitation 2.0", which emphasizes proactive walking training.
Manufacturers' Workshop
“Transfemoral Prosthetic Rehabilitation Using the Immediately Fittable Connect TF”
- Date & Time: Saturday, July 19, 2025, 10:50 AM – 11:40 AM
- Venue: Room 4
- Presenters:
- ① Mr. Yusei Sawada, Prosthetist and Orthotist, Kawamura Gishi Co., Ltd.
- ② Ms. Maya Okuno, Prosthetist and Orthotist, Pacific Supply Co., Ltd.
Connect® TF is an adjustable socket provided by Össur, designed for low-activity transfemoral amputees. It allows immediate fitting by adjusting height, circumference, and alignment to fit the patient's residual limb. For new amputees whose residual limb volume fluctuates significantly, the fitting process can often take time. However, the adjustable Connect® TF socket facilitates a smoother transition into prosthetic rehabilitation. Early loading on the residual limb can promote better limb shaping and improve load tolerance and sensory feedback.
In this workshop, we will introduce not only the features of the product but also examples of its clinical use, including both benefits and challenges. A live demonstration of fitting and adjustment will also be provided. We look forward to your attendance.
