Online Seminar: Principles and Clinical Use of Plantarflexion-Resisting Orthoses - Gaitsolution -
with a Focus on Ankle–Foot Orthoses (AFO)

Principles and Clinical Use of Plantarflexion-Resisting Orthoses - Gaitsolution -
with a Focus on Ankle–Foot Orthoses (AFO)
The seminar instructor, Prof. Sumiko Yamamoto, who is also the developer of Gaitsolution, has introduced the gait assessment concept of “rocker function” since the early stages of development, along with the orthotic function of “plantarflexion resistance.” These concepts have been reported, examined, and discussed by Ms. Sumiko Yamamoto herself as well as by many others, and have since evolved into one of the key topics in post-stroke gait rehabilitation today.
In this seminar, Prof. Sumiko Yamamoto, together with Mr. Soji Tanaka of Niigata University of Health and Welfare—who has extensive expertise in Gaitsolution from both research and clinical perspectives—will deliver lectures on the functional characteristics of Gaitsolution and its clinical applications, with a primary focus on the biomechanical principles that form the foundation of Gaitsolution.
In addition, a significant portion of the program will be dedicated to a Q&A session, providing an opportunity to address participants’ everyday questions and concerns. We warmly welcome the participation of those who are interested in or have questions about how Gaitsolution can be utilized in clinical practice, as well as all professionals involved in stroke rehabilitation.
This seminar will be held exclusively online via Zoom Webinar.
