Care Technology Introduction Support Project — Proposal for Product Implementation —
We Support Care Facilities with Technology-Enabled Solutions
Pacific Supply Co., Ltd. provides products and services that address diverse challenges in caregiving settings. We are pleased to announce that selected products from Etac AB, handled by our company, will now display the “Care Technology Mark” in the Welfare Equipment Information System (TAIS), operated by the Association for Technical Aids, Inc. Below are the eligible products and key points for implementation.
About the Care Technology Introduction Support Project
The Care Technology Introduction Support Project is a government initiative by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare to address workforce shortages in the caregiving sector. It promotes the adoption of care robots and ICT solutions.
Support details vary by fiscal year and local government. In general, subsidies are available for products displaying the Care Technology Mark. In FY2025, some cases received subsidies covering more than half of the implementation costs.
We encourage facilities—especially those facing staffing shortages or heavy workloads—to consider our Care Technology Mark products to help improve the working environment.

Benefits of Introducing Care Technology
Many people may wonder whether implementing care technology is truly beneficial. Let’s take a closer look at the advantages. By introducing Pacific Supply’s non-wearable transfer support devices, facilities can achieve significant benefits in three key areas: reducing physical burden, addressing staffing shortages, and improving labor productivity.
Benefit 1: Reducing Physical Burden
One of the most serious physical burdens for caregivers is lower back pain. Although there are many contributing factors, it can affect anyone regardless of age, knowledge, or experience. Manual transfer assistance that involves lifting places significant strain on the lower back and increases the risk of injury.
In other words, introducing non-wearable transfer support devices can significantly reduce the physical burden on staff by minimizing manual lifting during transfers. For more information, please visit the Japan No-Lift Association website (in Japanese).

Benefit 2: Addressing Staffing Shortages
Staff shortages often lead to single-person transfers. As a result, breaks may be insufficient, fatigue can reduce performance, and tasks that only certain staff can perform may become bottlenecks if those staff members are unavailable.
By introducing non-wearable transfer support devices, facilities can:
• Make single-person transfers less physically demanding
• Allow anyone to perform transfers, rather than relying on specific staff members
This helps address challenges caused by staffing shortages.
It is important to note that these devices do not require staff to perform all transfers alone. The key point is that even when a transfer is done by a single person, the physical burden is greatly reduced.
Benefit 3: Improving Labor Productivity
Some may assume that introducing care technology, such as care lifts, will increase transfer times. However, when tasks that previously required two staff members can be performed by one, the overall time spent at the facility does not substantially increase. This is because manual transfers with multiple caregivers include “hidden time” that is not always obvious (see figure below).
Considering both waiting time and back-and-forth movement, the time difference between manual transfers and lift-assisted transfers is not significant under normal conditions.
However, by using our Easy Sling or Basic Seat-Type Sling, lift transfer time can be further reduced, making it possible to complete transfers even faster than manual handling.
In addition, introducing equipment standardizes care procedures. As a result, staff can better understand each other’s work and collaborate more smoothly, leading to improved responsiveness and quality of care across the facility.
In this way, adopting transfer care technology (non-wearable type) enhances overall facility performance.
For Those Considering Implementation
● Introduction to Our Online Consultation
We offer demo units to facilities interested in trying care technology solutions. Before arranging a demo, we highly recommend starting with our free online consultation. Our experienced sales representatives and specialized consultants—backed by numerous successful implementations—will carefully listen to your specific needs and circumstances. Based on this discussion, we provide tailored recommendations to help ensure the solution truly fits your facility and prevents unexpected outcomes. ● Subscription Service Information
Subsidies under the Care Technology Implementation Support Program must be applied for through each local municipality. In general, the application period runs from May to July each year. Facilities considering this opportunity are encouraged to plan ahead.
For those who wish to start using the equipment before the subsidy application period, or for facilities that may have difficulty applying during the designated timeframe, we also offer a subscription-based service as an alternative option.
This service is widely used by facilities that:
Prefer not to make an immediate purchase
Would like to try the equipment for a limited period
With the exception of certain models, the subscription fee starts at JPY 12,000 per month, with contracts available on a monthly basis.
For first-time users, we currently offer the first month free of charge.
