We were excited to make our debut at the 51st Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society on Severe Motor and Intellectual Disabilities on October 17–18, 2026. Let's see what we discovered there!

It was our first time participating in this annual meeting, both as an exhibitor and as attendees. Once we arrived, we were delighted to discover so many facilities and hospitals whose work closely aligns with ours.
Although it was our first time attending, it somehow felt as if we were already familiar with many of the people and organizations there. We were filled with excitement and anticipation!
We also had the pleasure of reconnecting with familiar faces and meeting people with whom we had worked in the past. It turned out to be a wonderful opportunity to make new connections and strengthen existing relationships.
We focused exclusively on Positioning Cushions from COBI for this exhibition.

Lasal Flotation Cushions
This banner stand really catches people’s attention, and many visitors stop by to take a closer look.
Recently, we’ve been getting more and more questions like,
“Is it waterproof?”
“Oh, not exactly! It’s actually designed to let water into the inside, allowing it to blend naturally with the water,” we explain.
“Wait, does it really float?”
Many of the facilities we met have their own swimming pools, so this was a great opportunity to help visitors better understand the unique features and benefits of this Lasal Flotation Cushions.

Lasal Positioning Cushions
The conversation often starts with, “Oh, just another beanbag cushion, right?” But when we invite visitors to “Try placing your hand on the cushion and putting some weight on it,” their reaction is often, “Oh, you're right!!” followed by an impressed “Wow!”
They seem pleasantly surprised to see how the cushion changes shape while maintaining its form without easily collapsing. This really helps them understand one of its key features.
Next time, we’d love to have them try it in a lying position as well!

Lasal Dental Cushions
Some residential care facilities also have dental clinics on their premises. As soon as they saw our cushions, one visitor commented, “I’ll be sure to introduce this to our dental team when I get back!”
Regardless of age or disability, everyone wants to feel comfortable and at ease when receiving dental treatment. That is something we all have in common.
Afterwords...
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who took the time to stop by and listen to us during the exhibition. Although everyone may have different ways of supporting people with severe motor and intellectual disabilities, we all share the same desire to help and support them.
This exhibition was a wonderful opportunity for us to truly feel that shared commitment.
